PRIVATE PRACTICE

Dr. Brad Sachs, a licensed psychologist, treats children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, and performs psychological and psycho-educational evaluations, in his private practice in Columbia, Maryland.

His office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Initial consultations are generally scheduled between the hours of 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and usually take about an hour.

It is best to schedule initial consultations using the following e-mail addresses: drsachs@drbradsachs.com and drbradsachs@gmail.com. You are also free to leave a confidential voice-mail message in Mailbox #3, but utilizing e-mail will allow either Dr. Sachs or his office manager to respond more quickly when it comes to scheduling matters.

Dr. Sachs does not participate in any insurance plans, panels or networks, and handles payments on a fee-for-service basis only. If you would like, he will provide you with a statement at the end of each session that you are free to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement and/or retain for tax preparation purposes. There will be a fee for any insurance-based clinical treatment plans and related paperwork that need to be filled out, to be determined by the amount of time required for completion.

PAYMENT POLICY: Payment is expected at the time of service and can be made with check or cash only -- no debit/credit cards, please. A deposit may be required to confirm an initial evaluation/consultation session once that appointment has been set.

There is no charge for brief (several minute) treatment-related telephone consultations with patients or collateral professionals (clinicians, school staff, attorneys, etc.). More in-depth telephone consultations will be charged for at the hourly rate.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Unless you have provided 72 hours notice (3 full business days), you will be charged full-fee for any appointment that is cancelled, forgotten, changed or missed for any reason, including but not limited to illness, car trouble, family emergencies, non-emergency inclement weather, scheduling conflicts, and having written down the wrong time for your appointment. The only exception is if your time-slot can be filled with another patient, something that we will always try to arrange, and can often be done, but cannot be guaranteed.
